IMPORTANT: There are
still quite a handful of players that are completely
ignoring the Multiple Team rule as stated below. Effective
immediately, any player caught playing for a team that is
outside of his division, or is playing for more than two (2)
teams, or if a team has two or more of the same players from
another team, will be assessed a fine of $30.00 payable on the
spot, due immediately. Additionally, all teams that
he played on for that particular weekend will be assessed a
loss due to having an illegal player. (Team captains, please
start checking the players on your roster.)
UPDATE: Middle
division players are now allowed to play in Copper
East/West, and vice-versa (one player per team).
Players
with multiple teams
We are changing
the league rules in regards to players playing in multiple teams.
Effective Week 2, all players can only play in two (2) teams IN
THE SAME DIVISION ONLY.
Only the Bronze
and Copper-Middle Division is the exception; Bronze players
may play in Copper-Middle - all other players with two teams
cannot go up and down a division. (Copper East/West players
can NOT play in Copper Middle, and vice-versa.)
2009 Fall Season Rule Changes
The following rule
changes will be applied to the 2009 Fall Season. We
will not have a Silver Division for this season:
Single-A Division
Asians only, no
ringers or half/half players
Copper Division
(includes Middle Division)
All asians plus:
-
one half/half player
Bronze Division
All asians, plus:
-
one half/half player
-
one 6'0" ringer
Players
with multiple teams
Each player is
allowed to play in two (2) teams maximum only,
regardless of
the division, no exceptions.
Effective Week
2, all players can only play in two teams IN THE SAME
DIVISION ONLY. No two players from the same team can
play in another team.
Only the Bronze
and Copper-Middle Division is the exception; Bronze players
may play in Copper-Middle - all other players with two teams
cannot go up and down a division. Also, no two players from
the same team cannot play together on another team, whether
the second team is in the same division or not.
Grandfather
rule
clarification
All players must
have played in SBLeague for seven (7) years OR 14 seasons (2
seasons in one calendar year) in order to be considered for
the grandfather exception. All other players and teams must
abide by the ringer and half/half classifications in each of
their respective divisions.
Technical fouls
Each technical
foul will now be penalized by two (2) free throws each -
this includes jersey infractions. There is also a $10.00
fine for each technical foul due immediately - must be
paid by the end of the game, no exceptions. Failure to
pay all technical foul fines by the end of the game will
result in an automatic two game suspension effective
immediately and will continue as long as the fine has not
been paid. (NOTE: Fines are for unsportsmanlike technical
fouls only, technical fouls for jersey infractions does not
warrant a fine.)
Injured
Players and Replacement Players
Effective in the
2009 Fall Season, all players that were injured while
playing in SBLeague and resulted in additional missed games
will not be allowed to return to play unless accompanied
with a doctor's clearance to play note.
If an injured
player is replaced by another player, the injured player
will be allowed to play in the playoffs regardless if he has
played 5 regular season games or not (with a doctor's note).
The replacement player, however, has to meet the 5 game
minimum requirement for playoff eligibility.
If the injured
player was a ringer or half/half player and if both meet the
5 game playoff requirement, only one player may play in the
playoffs (no more than the allowed ringer rules per division
as stated above).
